Standing On High Places

Jola Ajelabi

2 Samuel 22:34 says, "He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights." This verse highlights God's strength and stability given to His people, making them sure-footed like a deer and enabling them to stand in high places.

In a spiritual sense, standing on high places represents rising above challenges, achieving spiritual victories, and experiencing God's strength and favor. God empowers us not only to climb up but also to stand firm in these places of prominence or challenge. This stability and strength are not of our own making but are given by God, who secures our footing and equips us to walk with confidence in difficult terrains or elevated positions.

High places can be places of visibility, influence, or leadership, where we are called to be examples of faith and steadfastness. But they can also represent challenges where we need courage and resilience. When we stand on these "heights," we must rely fully on God, who makes us able to handle these new levels with grace and strength.

Reflecting on this verse can remind us that whatever "high place" we stand on – whether it’s in our personal lives, ministries, or workplaces – God has prepared, positioned, and empowered us. By trusting in His strength, we can stand confidently and fulfill His purpose, knowing He secures our every step.
